To my loyal readers.....

I am so sorry that it has been soooo long since I last updated. This semester is by far the busiest yet for me. School is kicking my butt this semester. It has definitely never been this hard before. I am doing my best to push on through though, and am making it happen.

Clemson basketball has been a large part of my semester thus far, and although there have been some real heartbreakers, the Tigers have made me proud. Baseball started this weekend. The weather was beautiful yesterday for the openning game, which was a double header against Mercer. The tigers won both. Furthermore, I left with a sunburn.

This week will also be a busy one. Theta's huge philanthropy event is a designer jeans sale which is this Wednesday and Thursday. It is a great idea, we sell designer jeans at extremely discounted prices, but that has involved a lot of preparation. Also my dad will be here on Thursday, and I am pretty excited about that. This weekend I have a pi chi retreat. (pi chi's are recruitment counselors). I am very excited about the retreat because its going to be a lot of fun.

Other exciting news in my life is that we leave for the Bahamas in less than 3 weeks! Hooray!

Well, thats about all I have time for at the moment. I will try harder to increase my updating frequencies.

So Wesley fall retreat was amazing. The mountains are incredibly beautiful. The weather was fabulous. The people totally and completely rock my world. The weekend was relaxing and low key and has left me refreshed and rejuvenated physically and spiritually, and has enriched some previous friendships and created new ones.

Why are my roommate and I a perfect match, today I passed her in the middle of campus as she was returning from class and I was headed out, and we are wearing the same thing. Great minds think alike.

Pumped cause the tigers looked amazing on Saturday, with over 600 yards on offense.

More pumped that I am flying home on Thursday.

Tonight on the theta hall, we had a funeral for Laura Apsey (the fish). Many sisters we present for this sorrowful yet beautiful bathroom held in the unisex bathroom on the hall (this bathroom does not have a shower and is mainly for the occasional male who may wander onto the hall). After a wonderful eulogy given by the Laura Apsey's owner's big sister, Hilary Herbert, we all joined in to a chorus of "A Kite Called a Theta Kite" before and while flushing Laura Apsey down the toilet. Laura Apsey (the human) led most of the funeral procession to Spill the Beans for ice cream to forget the pain of losing Laura Apsey (the fish).

After a lot of effort, unpacking, and trying to find places for all of our stuff in our semi-large room with minimal storage space, we have finally turned our room into one of the cutest on the hall. Pictures and crafty items are fabulous.

In other news, I have fallen in love with the Wal-Mart brand of Cinnamon Toast Crunch (actually called Cinnamon Toasters). They are fabulous.

My roommate is pretty fabulous too.

Oh, and I like most of my classes. My honors seminar, Clergy Leadership in America, is incredibly interesting! The only downfall is that it is also undoubtedly my hardest class.

In response to my mood, we went to Olive Garden tonight for Hannah's birthday.

I am FINALLY moved in. It feels sooo incredibly good to have a permanent residence, and to no longer be living out of a suitcase.

In other news, recruitment starts tomorrow, and surprisingly, I am excited. Despite long hours and constantly having to look nice, I think it is going to be fun. And believe me, I NEVER thought I would think or say that.

15 days till kickoff!!!

Wow. In the large gap since my last journal, livejournal has redone their format. I like it better. It seems much easier to navigate.

I am so tired of living out of a suitcase and/or my car. I have had to pack up my shampoo and toothbrush and everything else 4 nights in a row now. Thank goodness I more in one week from today, and I will finally have a more permanent residence. I will be at Hannah's for the next three nights though, so at least that is slightly less moving around for a couple days.

oh, and in case you were wondering, 22 days till kickoff!!!

I am done with all of my finals, meaning my freshman year is over. And although it has been a fabulous year, I do not know how excited I am about its closure. I have already said some sad goodbyes, and there are more to come in the next few days. Suddenly, summer is no longer this thing of great excitement.... At least I will be back in about a month!

In two weeks, my first year of college will be finished. I have to say goodbye to all of my amazing friends for the summer. And in the case of Rachel, Elizabeth, Jill, and the many other seniors who have become so near and dear to my heart, I will say a goodbye that covers an indefinite period of time. This year has been absolutely amazing. I have met some of the most incredible people. I am not sure how I will survive the entire summer without them. I know I will, since I have survived life without all of you amazing mandeville kids, but it is still weird. Clemson is incredible, and I think I could be happy to spend the rest of my life here. College is a great thing. :)

I cannot believe what happened at VA Tech today. I can't even imagine what it must be like to be a student there right now. The news broke while we were at Wesley lunch, so we all were talking about what we would do if it happened here. This is so horrible. I just don't understand people sometimes....

10:08 pm - Greetings from Nashville!!!
So I am currently sitting on a coach in Courtney Cole's apartment watching some pagent while we talk to Sean on the phone. We just finished some cookie dough egg rolls, which were amazing. Tomorrow Courtney is going to take me around Nashville. I am pretty excited about it cause it is such a cool place.

So my csm interview went really well. Jes, the city director, was soooo cool! I got there around 3:00 on Wednesday afternoon. Shortly after my arrival I met up with the junior high group whom I spent the next two and a half days with. The entire experience was fabulous! We went to some really cool cites and got to do some great work. My interview went really well too, so now I am just keeping my fingers crossed that I get a job. I'll be sure to let you all know......

Louie Giglio rocked the world last night. Not that it was any surprise, but he was. Chris Tomlin and Matt Redmann did a pretty awesome job as well. The concert was incredible. The four of us had a pretty good time in Atlanta too. Rock on for road trips!

Tonight was the Lever Legendaries last basketball game. Unfortunately, we lost, but we put up a good fight. We finished our season 2-3, which is something to be proud of considering half of us had never played basketball before, and that our games were at freaking 11pm. We will rock their faces off next year!

DO WORK!!!!!

10:40 pm - Spiritualicious
So this is just a small reason why Clemson UMC is a pretty rockin' place. The youth group performed this song for us at Wesley two weeks ago. It pretty much rocked my world, especially since I can totally see myself doing the same thing. The song is to the tune of "Fergalious." oh and I cut out some parts just cause I didn't feel like typing it all. You get the jist though....

Spritualicious definition live my life for Jesus
They want his treasure so they can get their pleasures from their prayers
He can see you, he can hear you
He forgives you and he loves you
He's the savior that has saved us there's just no one like our Jesus
Spiritualicious (Spiritualicious)
And He's not promiscuous
And if you was suspicious
All that junk is fictitous
No love like His (Jesus)
He puts Satan in hell hell
And they be listenin' to the bells as the choir from heaven yells

So faithlicious (it's GOD GOD)
So faithlicious (I am so high on GOD GOD)
So faithlicious (there just ain't no one like our GOD)
Spiritualicious (j-j-j-Jesus Jesus!)

.......

J! to the E! to the S-U-S got Jesus Christ! to the J! to the E! to the S-U-S got Jesus Christ! to the C! to the H! to the R-I-S-T-I-A-N! to the C! to the H! to the to the to the take it to the cross!

Rap:
All the time I turn around Demons gather round always lookin' at me up and down tryin' to turn me (baaaad)
I just wanna say it now I ain't here to rouse no Satan he be hatin' I just wanna live for God.
And I know I'm comin off just a little bit conceited how I keep on repeatin' that I got the love of Jesus
Cuz I'm tryin' to tell that I got GOD'S love, thats fo real!

Just face it I'm

Faitlicious.......

Don't you just love it?!?!?!?!

So the past two days have been absolutely gorgeous. I love it when the weather is pretty and Bowman field is full of people playing frisbee or football or just hanging out down there. It hasn't been crowded like that in a long time, and it makes me happy.

This week has been pretty good. Tuesday night we had our usually intramural basketball game. Although we lost, we won in spirit because they played really dirty and we did not sink to their level. Wednesday night began what is hopefully to be a new tradition, dinner at Rachel's house. We are going to do a couple more trial runs, but then I think we are going to invite other people to join us. I made jambalaya, which was excellent. I think we may grill next time. Last night we played Duke in basketball. We played HORRIBLE in the first half. We were shooting at about 22%. The second half, however, was just about the most amazing thing ever. We scored almost 50 points in the second half, and in the first 12 minutes Duke only scored 9. Unfortunately, our horrific performance in the first half was to great for us to overcome....

This weekend should be somewhat low key. I am working at the Wesley coffee house tonight. Tomorrow night Katherine and I are going to a musical at the Brooks Center, but other than that, I have few plans. I am excited to just relax.

I hope you all had a fabulous week!

7:36 pm - Happy Valentines!!
So today has been an excellent week in the world of mail. Monday, I got a letter from my little girl in Tanzania. Tuesday, I got a Mardi Gras care package from the Hulett's. Katie wrote me a sweet letter, and Mrs. Michelle sent coffee, Mardi Gras Zaps, and a Mardi Gras to go coffee mug! Then today I got FOUR Valentine cards and a Mandeville Bake Shop king cake. I knew the king cake was coming, but the cards were a pleasant surprise. :)

I hope you all had a wonderful day!

6:59 pm - Groundhog's Day
So I know that this was a few days ago, but this past Friday, I celebrated Groundhog's Day. I am pretty sure that this is the first time in my life that I have ever celebrated this holiday, but I might be changing that. We had sooooo much fun. The party was a slumber party, and the guests were Wesley girls. We had a riveting pin the shadow on the groundhog tournament. In case you were wondering about the rules of this sport, it is a team sport. You work in pairs. The shadow must be placed on the correct side (in our case it was the right) to earn any points. The closeness and accuracy of the shadow to the groundhog determined the actual point value. It was exceptionally intense, and for a moment I thought my partner was going to take out the judge over a discrepancy of points received. Sadly, we did not win, however we were defeated by the team who went on to win the tournament.

The evening in general was spectacular. I have not laughed that hard in a very long time. Furthermore, I got to know a couple people better, and now I am unsure as to how I have lived so long without them. Yay for slumber parties and for the groundhog!

I went sledding for the first time ever!!!! We made snow angels and had a snow ball fight. We also tried to make a snow man but it didn't go quite as well. Its so awesome though. Yay for snow!!!!!!

So this is really random and really not that significant in the grand scheme of things, but the Theta's have a snaps bucket, where people put in slips of paper that says things like, "Snaps to so and so for doing such a great job on the philanthropy event." Then every week at chapter, they read some of them. Well this week someone wrote, "Snaps to Laura-Allen for always being so cheerful," and it totally made my day!

oh, and I have a roommate for the hall next year (the theta hall). Mattie and I are going to have the best room ever!!!
